About Alastair Cumming
Born in Malaya, Alastair was raised mostly in the Far East before settling in Sydney for his teenage years where he studied Arts/Law at Sydney University.
He went on to study at London’s Drama Centre and has worked extensively in theatre including touring to Japan with the RSC, co-starring with Kathryn Hunter in Dostoyevsky's “Underground Man’ and leading a highly acclaimed revival of “The Time Of Your Life” at the Finborough.
He has featured in television classics such as "Dr Who" and the legendary first series of “Skins”.
Alastair has worked with acclaimed directors in film including Peter Greenaway, Stephan Elliot and Todd Haynes and has featured in the recent French hit road movie “Crash Test Aglae” with Julie Depardieu and Yolande Moreau.
Most recently he filmed a comedy/drama pilot for Netflix playing the lead role Rummidge – a failed alcoholic doctor setting up an illegal suicide clinic in the English countryside.
He is soon to be seen as the lead in a new horror film “Out At Night”.
Alastair has a son studying in Sydney, two dogs and a home in Rio De Janeiro.
